Customs value
For example
Product is sold from Shanghai (ZH) to Antwerp (BE)
Product value - 1000 EUR
Freight from Shanghai to Antwerp - 1000 EUR
Insurance to Antwerp - 100 EUR
Value for Customs - 1000 + 1000 + 100 => 2100 EUR
Will not be included - all handling operations at arrival in Belgium such as Terminal Handling Charges,...
Keep in mind that:
- Is defined as the full value of a product as it enters the country
- This means: product value + transport into country + insurance
- CIF / CIP value price (see incoterms)
For example
Product is sold from Shanghai (ZH) to Antwerp (BE)
Product value - 1000 EUR
Freight from Shanghai to Antwerp - 1000 EUR
Insurance to Antwerp - 100 EUR
Value for Customs - 1000 + 1000 + 100 => 2100 EUR
Will not be included - all handling operations at arrival in Belgium such as Terminal Handling Charges,...
Keep in mind that:
- in case of a DDP sale (where you take care of import taxes), the higher the value of your sale (invoice value), the higher the customs value (tariffs, taxes)
- If the value is deemed too low for the authorities, they will consider it as “dumping”!
- There is no such thing as a free sample! Everything has a value!
